On a bright fall morning Mayor Angel Taveras, Parks Department Superintendent Bob McMahon, and members of the Conservancy and Friends of Blackstone Woods gathered for a walk through the woods overlooking the Seekonk River. Encountering a preschooler looking for fairies among the yellow leaves and several dog walkers, we soaked up the full autumn glory of the central section of the Park. The mayor was full of interested questions and said he enjoyed the tour – his first. We enjoyed introducing him to this urban treasure and hope he returns.
