Be a part of Rhode Island’s day of giving. Support us on April 1st through 401Gives. This is an opportunity to unite the people of our state around great causes.
Have you walked the Blackstone Boulevard path amidst the cherry trees in the spring, joined us for a concert at the Trolley Shelter, or watched the leaves turn magnificent colors Blackstone Park along the Seekonk River in the fall? If so, you know our work maintaining trails, improving stormwater drainage, bringing the community together for events in the park, and much more.
We care for these two city parks in partnership with the Providence Parks Department and the Department of Public Works.
This spring, we need your help to:
Water and prune small trees with Groundwork RI and Garden Time, two local nonprofits that train people in landscaping skills for re-entry into the workforce.
Contract with a seasonal tree monitor to ensure disease & other issues are promptly addressed.
Treat our treasured beech trees against beech leaf disease.
The Conservancy is a membership organization with an all-volunteer board of directors. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. We accomplish our goals with help from many dedicated volunteers. And we need your help to fund programming and projects that keep the parks and our neighborhood healthy.
To fund our work, we rely on our members’ contributions and competitive grant awards for some projects. We welcome your volunteer work as well as your suggestions for how to improve both parks. Your support will help realize our vision: healthy urban green space for all.
