Joe Parillo, the New Ensemble and flutist Wendy Klein returned to Blackstone Field on Saturday, July 20. Joe Parillo (keyboard), Wendy Klein (flute), George Dussault (guitar) and Paul Del Nero (bass) treated us to exquisite renditions of each other’s songs, always with expert support from drummer Rick Andre. That these exceptional and seasoned players have been making music together for decades was particularly apparent in their colorful musical interactions, and the sense of musical humor they all shared. Wendy will be back to Blackstone Parks next Thursday, July 25, at 6 PM, for a Latin Jazz concert, with Robertico Arias, Nina Ott, and Chirs Lopes, at the Blackstone Boulevard Trolley Shelter.
