Thank you to volunteers from Temple Beth-El and Congregation Beth Sholom! On September 10, the group led by Rabbi Preston Neimeiser and Rabbi Emily Goldberg Winer cleaned along the Seekonk River as part of “reverse Tashlich,” a creative imagining of an annual ritual involving a flowing body of water. In partnership with the Conservancy and Save the Bay’s International Coastal Cleanup effort, volunteers collected and catalogued 24 trash-bags worth of plastic waste, cigarette butts, and more. As a bonus, some hardy volunteers stayed to add wood chips in the park to absorb rainwater – which fell abundantly right after the event wrapped up.
